Sandvik MT521 tunneling roadheader is based on a modular machine concept - a construction roadheader in the 100 ton class with easily exchangeable modules, selectable for adapting the MT521 machine to a wide variety of applications. Its modular design offers more flexibility than standard roadheaders and works in rock conditions up to 100 MPa compressive strength. The full cutter motor power of 315 kW is available for both the cutter head types – the transverse one and the longitudinal or inline one.
