Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is launching Sandvik Alpha™ 340 asymmetric drilling tools, a new thread concept within its top hammer drilling offering for mining and tunneling. Replacing the proven Sandvik Alpha™ 330 thread system, the new concept delivers up to 30 percent longer service life and increased productivity.

Sandvik has received a large mining equipment order from the Chinese global mining services provider JCHX Mining Management Co., Ltd., to be used in the Kamoa-Kakula copper mine and the Kamoya copper and cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The order is valued at SEK 210 million and will be booked in the fourth quarter 2022.

A leading mining services provider will put Sandvik’s AutoMine® Surface Drilling solution to work at a mine in Australia, with the AutoMine® system to be used with existing Leopard DI650i down-the-hole drill rigs on site. The aim is to increase efficiency and to build on the current high levels of safety. The AutoMine® system allows a single operator to control up to three rigs simultaneously from the safety of a trailer, van or remote control room.
