Cone steel protection reinforces the rotary bit with protective hard metal, which is applied to the cone between inserts. This increases cone steel life and limits insert loss and coring. The CSD optimized design improves bottom hold coverage and bit life.  

PowerCarbide^® SH75 is a self-hardening carbide grade designed to enhance performance, especially in hard and abrasive rock conditions. In tests, bit life was increased by up to 90% while maintaining the same high penetration rates, leading to reduced total drilling costs.
