DSI Underground re-enters US mining market at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2021

DSI Underground is showcasing its comprehensive range of ground support and reinforcement products, systems and solutions for underground mining and tunneling at MINExpo INTERNATIONAL® 2021 in Las Vegas

Following the expiration of a five-year no-compete agreement at the end of 2020 and its subsequent acquisition by Sandvik, DSI Underground is once again offering the widest product range of consumables to mines in the United States.

“Helping to keep underground miners safe and productive has always been our top priority, and we’re excited to be reestablishing our presence in the US market,” said Mark Brandon, DSI Underground Global COO.

DSI Underground is showcasing some of its latest products in the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions booth at MINExpo, including its virtual reality simulator for the installation of FASLOC® resin capsules, used to anchor bolts to surrounding strata. Their ease of use, fast setting times and high bond strength make the resin capsules a popular choice in conventional and fully automated installations.

The aftermarket leader is also presenting its injection chemicals for a variety of applications such as sealing, stabilization, cavity void filing and bonding, as well as its dynamic anchors, often used for bolting, foot piles, face stabilization or as a lance for injection works.

Also on display will be Sandvik’s MDX bolt system, which delivers strong performance in both problematic ground conditions and areas that are prone to seismic activity.

Sandvik announced in December 2020 that it would acquire DSI Underground, and the acquisition was completed in July. DSI Underground forms Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ new Ground Support division.

The strategic acquisition enables Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions to become the industry’s leading full-service provider of equipment and consumables to underground hard rock mining and tunneling, driving safety and productivity across the full underground cycle and adding further value to customers.
