Women Who #choosetochallenge

Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions operates in areas traditionally dominated by men, such as engineering, manufacturing and mining. Increasing the number of women in leading positions is high on the agenda since a diverse workplace has been shown to affect a company’s bottom line and improve its ability to attract and retain talent.

Following the recent business accolade, Sandvik Mobile Crushers and Screens have become the first engineering manufacturer in Northern Ireland (NI) to be awarded the Bronze Diversity Mark for commitment to Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality.

On Women’s International Day 2021, celebrated Monday 8th March, Sandvik Mobile Crushers and Screens are joining forces with local trail blazers to celebrate women's achievements in traditionally male dominated industries. Joining us are;

  • Grainne Crabtree- Head of Health & Safety within the Rail Industry. IRFU National Panel member (one of only two females on the 50 strong panel, who referee Men’s all Ireland League Rugby), Refereed International U18’s and Refereed Ladies Senior International Rugby.
  • Women Who Tina McKenzie.jpgTina McKenzie- A high profile and multi award winning Managing Director with over 25 years’ experience in the recruitment industry. Tina McKenzie launched Staffline Ireland in 2013 as a start up after running companies throughout the UK and internationally. Under her leadership, Staffline has gone from a standing start to an annual turnover of £150 million. Tina also Chairs the FSB NI Policy Unit, is a member of UK FSB Policy Board, sits on the Dept. of Economy Advisory Group in response to Covid-19 and holds the office of Honorary Consul to Finland for Belfast.

Sandvik initiatives include flexible working hours, ensuring a culture where everyone is treated equally, fair recruitment processes, apprenticeship and placement programmes and community outreach to encourage the next generation to join STEM initiatives.

From challenge comes change, so let's #choosetochallenge.
