Sandvik protects its patent rights for top hammer drill bits
During 2020, Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions discovered that a company manufactured top hammer bits having patent protected design by Sandvik.
After action by Sandvik, the infringing company has now recognized and acknowledged Sandvik’s patent rights and agreed to cease and desist from manufacturing, advertising (either directly or indirectly), selling, making available for sale, importing, exporting, etc. any product which infringes the claims of the registered patents. The parties have settled the matter and the infringing company has agreed to pay Sandvik compensation and refrain from any future breaches of the patents. No other comment will be made by either party on this matter.
Sandvik invests significant sums of money in research and development, and also in registering intellectual property rights, such as patents, which are designed to protect this investment in its products and technologies. Sandvik believes it must protect its interests in order to continue investing in the future and remain world leaders in tools, service and equipment design. Sandvik monitors markets actively for potential infringements of its protected rights.
